About

Who/ What?
Chances are that if you do not personally know Merrick Anderson, Colin Klimesh, or Broc Toft, you may be a little confused about who/what Repetitive Play is. We are a group of Art students from Minnesota State University Mankato. In the Fall of 2011 we collaborated on a self-titled Ceramic installation. And it was a tremendous success for all involved.

We all met in the ceramics studio at Mankato and have been friends for a few years now. In addition to ceramics we are all also Printmakers and create other work in our free time besides what we use in the Repetitive Play collaboration. Currently we are mostly using plaster molds and slip casting to create our work however there is some variation to those techniques that we use in creating our work. (Check out http://repetitiveplay.blogspot.com/2011/10/geometric-beautiesc.html).

The hope for the Repetitive Play collaboration is to keep it going as long as possible and to stay busy. Hopefully in the future it won't be limited to only ceramic work and there may also be possibility to add new artists to the crew.

What Next?
Since the first Repetitive Play exhibition we have ascertained to venues to create new work of similar nature. The first is in Seattle, Washington from March 27-31 at NCECA (National Council for Education on the Ceramic Arts). Here is a link to the website with a write up about us. http://nceca.net/static/projectspace.php

The Second show is going to be this summer at a local venue in Mankato, called the 410 Project. http://the410project.com/home.html the dates for this show aren't set in stone yet but we'll keep ya posted.
