This song has become a theme of ours in the studio lately. We have been firing a lot of kilns getting ready for Seattle. We are also gearing up for our Repetitive Play Fundraisers http://www.facebook.com/events/290764147655703/ we got a fully stacked kiln of ware. Send us your happy thoughts for a happy firing. If you haven't been invited, invite yourself. The more the merrier.
Six weeks left folks. We are trying to get some things laid out so we know what we are going to be doing in the space! Also, we are trying to test some colors. So far not much success... We'll figure it out soon though, don't you worry!
This last week really started heating up, and not just talking about the weather either. It looks like Repetitive Play is back in full swing production mode again. We got a new body of work and a deadline to meet. These are just a few quick shots from our studio space at MNSU. Casting, assembling, sanding and loading and also firing. A couple changes this time around, we are firing our work in a gas kiln to ensure proper vitrification so that our work will make the trip to Seattle in the end of March. Broc posted a picture of a full kiln about a week ago, but we decided to fire in the big down draft this time. Thanks everyone for keepin tabs on our blog and keep checkin back often.
Colin and I (merrick) are headed to the studio this morning to mix up round two of a batch of slip. Broc got us prepped last night with step 1-3 (1. CLEAN BUCKETS 2. MEASURE WATER 3. MEASURE DARVAN) Here we go!!!
Our first firing of work for the NCECA Seattle show came out a few days ago! Tell your friends about us! We need more followers so we are inspired to post more... Also, comments are nice.
Hey Everyone, Sorry for the lack of posts lately, we've all been busy with the end of semester business. I just wanted to drop a quick post and let everyone know that we submitted Repetitive Play to the NCECA (national ceramic educators council of america) project space. Today we were informed that we made the cut. So we in the spring we will be traveling to Seattle Washington to install our work during the conference. Big Deal! Hooray
Repetitive Play like all good things is coming to an end. TODAY! This afternoon around 4pm we will begin de-installing in the Centennial Student Union Gallery. Feel free to stop by and peer through the glass at us as we work, it should be quite a spectacle to behold.
